QR Code Generator

Files & Utilities

Create a QR code for any link or text, choose the size and error-correction level, then download a sharp PNG. Everything is generated locally.

Your inputs

Longer text needs more modules, so the pattern gets denser.

px

The image is rounded down to whole modules so the edges stay sharp.

Higher levels survive scratches and small logos but add modules.

modules

Keep at least 4 so scanners can find the edges.

Formula and rules

  • Version = the smallest grid that fits the data at the chosen level, starting at 21 × 21 modules
  • Pixels = (modules + 2 × quiet zone) × module size, rounded down to whole modules
  • Error correction recovers L 7%, M 15%, Q 25% and H 30% of a damaged code
  • Byte mode encodes UTF-8, so Chinese, accented letters and emoji all work

Worked examples

A short link

Input https://example.com, level M, target 512 px.

Result A version 2 code of 25 × 25 modules, exported at 495 × 495 px.

A Wi-Fi login card

Input WIFI:T:WPA;S:MyNetwork;P:mypassword;;, level Q.

Result A denser code that most phones offer to join the network when scanned.

A code for a printed poster

Input A 90-character campaign URL, level H, target 1024 px.

Result More modules but 30% recovery, so it still scans with a crease or a small logo.

FAQ

Why is the PNG not exactly the size I typed?

QR modules must be whole pixels. The image is (modules + quiet zone) × module size, rounded down, so a 512 px target can become 495 px and still look crisp.

Which error-correction level should I use?

M is the usual default for links on screen. Choose Q or H for print, for codes that may get scratched, or when you plan to put a logo in the middle.

Can I put my logo in the middle?

Not in this tool — it exports a clean code. If you edit it later, use level H and keep the logo under about 20% of the width, then test the result with two different phones.

Is the QR code tracked or expired?

No. The code encodes exactly the text you type, with no redirect or shortener, so it works forever and never reports scans to anyone.
