1 GB to MB
Input 1 GB to MB.
Result 1,000 MB in decimal units or 1,024 MiB in binary units, a 7.37% gap.

Input 1 GB to MB.
Result 1,000 MB in decimal units or 1,024 MiB in binary units, a 7.37% gap.
Input 500 MB to GB.
Result 0.5 GB decimal and 0.488281 GiB binary, both exactly 500,000,000 or 524,288,000 bytes.
Input 8 bit to Byte.
Result Exactly 1 byte in both systems, so the gap is 0%.
Drive makers use decimal units, so 1 TB is 1,000,000,000,000 bytes. An operating system that reports binary units divides by 1,024 four times and gets 931.3 GiB, which older systems still label as GB.
KB officially means 1,000 bytes and KiB means 1,024 bytes under the IEC standard. Many tools and people still use KB for 1,024, which is exactly why this calculator shows both readings.
Divide by 8 first: 100 megabits per second is 12.5 megabytes per second. A one-hour download at full speed then moves about 45,000 MB, or 45 GB decimal.
