runspace is built around a simple premise: your host machine should not be polluted by the dependencies, builds, and tests you run. Instead of executing commands locally, it creates a disposable GitHub codespace and runs everything there, returning the output and a patch. The host only needs a single static binary and a GitHub token, with no repository configuration required.
The workflow is command-driven. You create a sandbox tied to a repository and branch, execute scripts inside it over SSH through a Dev Tunnel, then collect the diff as a patch. When finished, you delete the sandbox and keep the patch on your host. This makes each run self-contained and easy to discard.
Two interfaces are offered: a CLI for people and an MCP server for AI agents. That means the same disposable execution model can be used interactively by a developer or invoked programmatically by an agent, without maintaining separate environments.
It suits developers who want clean, reproducible command execution without local setup, and teams building agent workflows that need isolated compute. A reasonable approach is to start with a small repository and a single script to confirm the create-exec-diff-delete cycle before adopting it more broadly.
