Rollipop

Rollipop positions itself as a modern build toolkit for React Native, powered by Rolldown. Rather than patching the existing Metro pipeline, it rethinks bundling around the Rollup/Rolldown ecosystem, aiming to give React Native projects the same plugin-driven extensibility that web developers already expect from modern build tools.

Core features include a full-featured dev server with native HMR, Fast Refresh, error symbolication, and source maps, plus tree-shaking for smaller bundles and faster startup. A built-in caching system combines file system and in-memory caching, and the tool adopts standard Node module resolution without Haste, including Yarn PnP support. It also ships a dashboard, bundle analysis, SVG support, and an MCP server.

Rollipop is aimed at React Native developers and teams who want a Metro-compatible build and dev server with a more modern foundation. It suits projects that rely on Rollup-style plugins, monorepos using Yarn PnP, or teams looking to reduce bundle size and speed up iteration cycles.

To get started, follow the Quick Start and TypeScript configuration docs, then review CLI commands and the dev server dashboard. Because it is a drop-in Metro replacement with compatible APIs, migration can be incremental; check the experimental features and troubleshooting sections before adopting it in production.

Overall, Rollipop is a credible modern alternative for React Native builds, especially for teams invested in the Rolldown ecosystem.
