This page is an official staff announcement on Pillowfort, a social blogging and community platform. Rather than describing the product itself, it delivers the news that the site is closing, framed as the hardest decision the author has made. Readers looking for the platform’s features will not find them here; the page exists to inform the existing user base.
The core content is the closure notice. The author explains that although many people reached out about a non-profit initiative, no one could be found to take over as head of Pillowfort and lead the organization. Since operations could not continue as before, the decision to close was made. The surrounding interface elements are standard post controls such as reblog, comment, like, and queue.
The page suits current Pillowfort members, community moderators, and anyone following the platform’s fate who wants the announcement from an official source. People researching the site’s history may also find it relevant as a record of the shutdown.
For use, treat this as a primary announcement rather than a feature guide. Read the full post text for the reasoning behind the closure, and check for any follow-up posts from staff regarding timelines or data. Avoid relying on it for information about how the platform works.
In short, it is a farewell notice from Pillowfort’s staff, valuable for its directness and for documenting the end of the service.
