noyb.eu

noyb.eu is the public face of the European Center for Digital Rights, a non-profit organization founded by lawyer and activist Max Schrems. It functions as both a news outlet and a litigation hub, reporting on how the GDPR is applied in practice and pressing regulators and companies to comply. The site’s perspective is openly advocacy-oriented: it frames its work as defending fundamental rights against commercial data exploitation.

The core of the site is its casework. Visitors can browse cases by data protection authority or by company, read reports and policy resources, and follow ongoing complaints and collective redress actions. A dedicated GDPR hub collects enforcement decisions and commentary, while news posts cover legislative developments such as the recent EU Council position on AI-related data processing. Membership, donations, and sponsorship options fund the organization’s legal work.

The audience is fairly specific: EU residents who want to understand or exercise their data rights, journalists and researchers tracking privacy enforcement, and lawyers or activists following GDPR jurisprudence. Companies and compliance teams may also read it to anticipate complaints, though the tone is adversarial rather than advisory.

Use the site as a primary source for noyb’s own filings and statements, and cross-check legal claims against the linked decisions and authority documents. The rights section offers practical routes for individuals, while the news archive is useful
