TabTerrace is a Chrome extension built around a simple idea: instead of stacking dozens of tabs, put several pages into one tab and arrange them as a grid. It targets desktop Chrome and positions itself as a lightweight tab manager rather than a full workspace suite. The extension is free, requires no account, and keeps its data local to the browser, which makes it easy to try without committing to a service.
The core feature is the tab grid. You select open tabs and merge them into a single view of up to nine live pages, each of which behaves like a real page: you can scroll it, follow links, log in, or watch video. More than 30 grid layouts are available and dividers are resizable, so you can swap cells without reloading. Closing the grid returns every page to a normal tab. A separate split-view mode pairs any two tabs using Chrome’s native split view and lets you name the pair, which helps with sites that refuse to be embedded.
Typical users include researchers comparing sources, analysts watching several dashboards at once, shoppers checking prices across stores, and anyone who wants reference pages visible beside their main work. Because each cell is a live page, the grid also works for monitoring feeds or keeping a video playing while you read. Named split pairs and saved page groups make it practical to reopen a recurring set of pages together.
To get started, install the extension from the Chrome Web Store, open the tabs you want to combine, and merge them into a g
