NeoInbox is a Thunderbird extension that rebuilds the discontinued Google Inbox interface on top of a free, open-source desktop email client. Rather than a separate service, it layers Inbox-style organization onto whatever accounts you already have in Thunderbird, including Gmail, Outlook and Yahoo Mail.
The core idea is a single unified mail stream where messages flow into one another with smooth animations. Instead of folders, emails are grouped into bundles by logical category, and flight, hotel, train and dinner confirmations are parsed automatically and collected into trip bundles.
Inbox Zero habits carry over through done, pin and snooze actions, and you can type reminders directly into the inbox instead of emailing yourself. All sorting happens on your own computer, with no telemetry or subscription tiers involved.
It suits people who miss Google Inbox’s triage model but prefer a local desktop client, especially frequent travelers who benefit from automatic trip grouping. You will need Thunderbird 128 or later installed first, and a live demo is available for desktop browsers if you want to preview the interface before installing.
