Covering Climate Now

Covering Climate Now is a collaboration of news organizations focused on strengthening climate journalism worldwide. Rather than publishing a conventional news feed, it acts as a hub where partner outlets share reporting projects, editorial standards, and practical guidance for covering the climate story across beats.

The site’s core sections include Climate Beat, a recurring editorial column that highlights notable climate reporting and suggests angles for newsrooms; a partner directory listing participating outlets; a sharing library of reusable content; and live conversations with journalists. Projects and announcements round out the offering, giving editors a view of ongoing collaborative efforts.

Its audience is primarily professional journalists, editors, and newsroom leaders, along with communications staff at partner organizations. Students and researchers studying climate coverage may also find the commentary and project descriptions useful as examples of how the field discusses terminology and framing.

Visitors should start with the Climate Beat archive to see the editorial voice, then explore the partner directory and sharing library if they represent a newsroom interested in collaboration. The site is not a data portal, so those seeking raw climate datasets should look elsewhere. Overall, it functions as a practical editorial companion for climate coverage.
