PressAudit is a news-comparison site built around a simple question: when a major story breaks, who covers it, and how? Instead of presenting one editorial line, it gathers coverage of the same event from outlets across the political spectrum and lays the volume and slant side by side. The homepage lists today’s top stories with article counts and a left/center/right breakdown, giving an immediate sense of where attention is concentrated.
The core tools are the coverage heatmap, which maps every major outlet against every story, and side-by-side viewpoint comparisons that let you read how different publications frame the same facts. PressAudit also surfaces underreported news and outlet-level alignment patterns, so you can spot stories one side of the spectrum is barely touching. Trending topics and an explore section make it easy to browse beyond the front page.
It is aimed at readers who follow politics and current events and want to check their own information diet, as well as journalists, researchers, and students studying media bias and agenda-setting. Anyone tired of a single feed’s framing will find the cross-outlet view useful for forming a more grounded picture.
Use it as a starting point rather than a final verdict: pick a story, scan the heatmap for who is and isn’t covering it, then read a few of the linked viewpoints directly. The left/center/right labels are a rough guide, not a precise measurement, so treat the patterns as signals worth investigating rather
