AWS Lightsail Cost Saver is a single-purpose web utility for people paying for Amazon Lightsail instances and worrying about bandwidth charges. Its premise is that same-region, same-size instances draw from one shared data transfer allowance, so the calculator models the pool as a whole instead of treating each server separately.
The tool tracks current usage, projects month-end overage, and then searches for the cheapest number of IPv6-only instances to add when more bandwidth is needed. It supports ten languages and runs entirely in the browser, so usage figures are not uploaded anywhere.
It suits indie developers, small agencies, and self-hosters running a handful of Lightsail boxes who want a fast sanity check before adding capacity. Anyone on flat-rate or non-Lightsail hosting will find little here.
To use it, enter your instance sizes, regions, and observed transfer, then compare the forecast against the optimizer’s suggestion. Treat the output as an estimate and confirm final numbers in the AWS console.
