Txt Invaders is a small browser arcade game that turns a page of literature into a battlefield. Instead of a starfield, ASCII invaders descend over running text, and your ship moves along the bottom of the page. The premise is simple: survive as long as you can, clear each wave, and push your score higher than the last run.
The controls are deliberately minimal. Arrow keys or A and D move the ship, while holding Space or the left mouse button fires continuously. Escape pauses the game, and on touch screens you hold and drag to move and shoot at the same time. Enemies behave differently: red skimmers shoot straight down, blue hunters aim at your position, and orange bombers fire a spread, so reading the screen matters as much as reflexes.
Your ship has three hull points, and each hit costs one. Destroying enemies earns points and advances you to the next wave, with difficulty rising as waves progress. When the run ends, a single OK button restarts the game, keeping the loop fast and frictionless for short sessions.
Scores can be saved to a public top-10 table using a name of 1–12 letters or numbers, with no account needed. That makes it easy to compare runs with friends or other players. It is best suited to players who enjoy retro arcade challenges and quick, replayable sessions in the browser.
